NRS Brake’s Research and Development centre is fully equipped to perform corrosion, shear, noise, performance and durability tests of brake pads and other automotive parts. We have the necessary accreditations, trained personnel and equipment to perform these tests.
CCX Corrosion Chamber
CCX - Advanced Cyclic Corrosion Cabinet.
The Most advanced and versatile laboratory corrosion cabinet
Friction Performance Dynamometer
Provides capability for noise and vibration testing of brake corner and axle fixtures
Inertia Brake Dynamometer
The simulated Inertia system permits the replication of braking performance for a wide range of vehicles.
Brake Lining Shear Test Station
Specific Gravity of Friction Material. Quality control check for the consistency of formulation and processing of brake linings.
NRS IS A WORLD LEADER IN BRAKE INNOVATION AND SAFETY.
Link Dynamometers and Shear Tester to evaluate the effectiveness of the friction materials and structural integrity of brake pad assemblies with regard to pressure, temperature, and speed to SAE standards.
3D scanning to accelerate reverse engineering of brake caliper components facilitating the creation of a complete 3D solid of the brake caliper assembly. This data to ensure proper fit, form and function of brake pads, shims, and caliper hardware.
SIDE LOAD TESTING
Evaluate the negative impact of corrosion on pad drag within the brake caliper assembly and the importance of corrosion resistance. Advanced corrosion => Excessive Drag, Binding.
VEHICLE SPECIFIC TESTING
Link Mobile Data Acquisition (DAQ) system aids in the real world validation of dynamometer test results.
THE R&B Lab Is Our Assurance Of OEM Quality and Standards
Tested on Link Equipment
NRS uses LINK equipment. LINK is the largest brake laboratory in the world, and the preferred supplier to most OEMs.
Lab Approved By
General Motors has approved our lab and confirmed that we meet GM’s OEM level of compliance and assurance.
Lab Accredited By
SCC Accreditation & Design Mark is an Official Mark of the Standards Council of Canada, used under license.
